Thank You

Looking at this photo of Levi from one year ago compared to today – it’s amazing to think of how things have changed and what “Thankful” means to us now.  When Levi was born, he stole our hearts right away and we knew that there wasn’t anything we wouldn’t do for him.  Never did we imagine though, that there would be a day that we would feel like we couldn’t do anything…that even our everything might not be enough.   For us, that day came on June 14th.   But luckily, we did not have to do this alone.  Thanksgiving holds extra meaning to us this year as Levi is home, he has the same loving and sweet personality now despite everything he has had to endure.  We are thankful that somehow we managed to keep our heads above water.   We recognize that it is because we have been joined on this journey by so many others to help us, to encourage us, and to lift us up when we have needed it the most, that we are able to say today we are THANKFUL.

Thank you for all of the encouraging messages and cards…each and every one of them helped to lift our spirits on good days and bad.

Thank you for all of the meals, gift cards, and food.  Not having to worry about dinner at the end of a long day, gave us extra time to spend together as a family.  (Although maybe you all fed us too well – we’re calling it the 2020 “20”).

Thank you to our jobs who have helped to arrange schedules to ensure Levi always has someone by his side and our awesome colleagues who put up with us when our minds are less than focused.

Thank you to our friends and families – whether it’s taking care of Owen, a Pokemon raid, game night, or listening to us vent – it has helped in so many ways.  Your support is overwhelming.

Thank you to big Brother Owen, who spends each day with Levi trying to make him laugh and never complains when we are at the hospital.

Thank you to the fantastic doctors and nurses caring for Levi - who provide care even when he tells them to “Go Away!” Literally you are life savers.

Thank you for the amazing show of community support when Levi first came home – a Welcome Home Parade and Fire Truck Rides?  Is this a movie?  It was awesome!

Thank you to Zoom – whatever would we do without it?!

Thank you for the toys, books, and presents – Levi and Owen may now think that Christmas comes all of the time – but it has helped us to keep them entertained and focused on fun rather than all of the changes.

Thank you to all of our fellow Neon Yellow Crush Cancer t-shirt wearers!  It’s definitely a way to get noticed!

Thank you, thank you, thank you…for everything.

Most of all, thank you to the amazing LEVI who shows us what incredible strength is and has brought the best out of everyone.

We know that particularly in this year, that we are not the only ones who are facing challenges and who have felt sadness or pain.  It is our hope for all of you, that you too are able to find the moments of happiness in the messy thing we call life in 2020.

There is a long road ahead but we will take it one step at a time and enjoy the views.  THANK YOU for joining us on this journey with the Amazing Levi!

And thank you Beth and Zack - for being selfless, tireless, and the only ones outside of Levi who do not get to take a break but do it without thinking twice. I could not imagine better parents to take care of our sweet Baby Levi. I am so grateful he has you. Love all of you with my whole heart. ADYFI Leaking awesome sauce all day...

Beth and Zach, we do not have the words to add to your journey, but we are in some way trying to help lighten the load. May God be with you. Uncle Bob and Aunt Jean
