Update 10/27

Dear Angelika, Johannes set up this page to post comments. He has said that you have had a serious setback. The last time I saw you literally was on zoom a few weeks ago. As always your mind was sharp, you were on to new things, and you were immensely positive. Now you need that positivity to get you through again. We can only hope. We have been through so much science together and some personal times with the family and it was all good. You have so contributed so much to science and to the love of science. Every encounter was filled with mutual respect, obvious in a moment, followed by questioning and sometimes criticism. But it was a kind of loving criticism. The way you might criticize someone's driving, afraid that they might hurt themselves. I have no criticism at this time to offer but rather love and the same prayer that you not be hurt. Marc

Ich habe gerade mit grosser Trauer gehoert, dass Angelika im Koma liegt und es ihr sehr schlecht geht. Ich hatte sooooo gehofft, dass die Therapie anschlaegt. Ich bin in Gedanken bei Euch in diesen schweren Stunden. Angelika war ein ganz besonderer Mensch. Ich werde nie vergessen, wie wir bei Euch Wiener Schnitzel gegessen haben und in den See gesprungen sind. Angelika und ich haben viele Jahre lang bei dem Advisory Committee des IMP ueberlappt. Sie war immer der Hoehepunkt fuer mich! Immer originell, geradeheraus, provokativ, und konstruktiv. Ihre Vitalitaet, ihr wissenschaftlkiches Wissen, ihre Unkonventionalitaet sind einfach einmalig! Sie ist fuer mich immer ein Vorbild gewesen und ich bin froh, dass ich zu ihren vielen Freunden zaehle! Ich hoffe sehr, dass noch ein Wunder geschieht.

Dear Angelika, Your seminar on Friday was amazing and such an inspiration for my students and post-docs. You were so gracious afterwards with your offer of help on our experiments.
