So...I wasn't going to post this update because it seemed like such a blip on the radar. BUT I realized that if I didn't and Steve had to post an urgent post tomorrow with not so good news - well, I would be in big trouble! Seriously, as you can tell from the hour of this post and the short time frame, my better senses have gotten to me as well as my nerves.

Wednesday morning, June 6 I will be having surgery. It is scheduled as a day procedure and we don't expect any complications. I have continued to have problems with my endocrine labs and other symptoms and this surgery is to address these issues and hopefully clear up the clinical picture somewhat. The big unknown is this: the procedure has to be done under general anesthesia. No big deal usually but those of you who have been on this journey with us for at least 12 years or since the last brain surgeries know that general anesthesia is a little dicey for me. My last two experiences with general anesthesia left me in a coma-like state, reliant on a ventilator for days, completely awake on the inside but unable to move a muscle not even a finger or blink for days. A little unnerving to say the least .... The working theory is that it is the length of the surgery and the amount of muscle paralytics that are used. This current surgery is scheduled to last an hour or less so we pray that is the magic number at least! The previous surgeries were in the double digits as far as hours to complete so surely we are good this time!

So I post this update to ask you to pray for a good outcome. Pray for Steve as once again he finds himself in that awful place known as the surgery waiting lounge. He will post an update after the surgery is complete and he knows how I am doing. Thank you for the prayers! And as always, thanks for checking in on us, we love you all!
