Today Matters

Today Matters . .  .

I woke up early this morning; my eyes glazed with sleep. Yes, the reality was true. 9 days. 9  days of early hospital days - actually some days where sleep never came. But this day seems different. A refreshed night of sleep; a refreshed morning awakening. I wake up to focus on the books on the hospital tray - my Bible and “Today Matters” by John Maxwell. My thoughts immediately focus on a verse, “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” I needed these verses, on this day, on this morning . . .

The doctor entered. He has a plan. I will have an interventional procedure to place a larger tube to hopefully stop the incessant pouring of pus and drainage from the feeding tube opening. If this trial run isn’t successful, we are running out of viable plans. This is the dread I have felt in my heart the last few days but today felt refreshed and renewed and I knew instantly that God was bigger that my feeding tube issue. I needed these verses, on this day, on this morning - no matter the outcome - Today Matters!
