Post Op Update

Steve posting again with a brief update just to say that Lee is doing well overall following her shoulder surgery. She had hoped to do the next update personally, but typing efficiently with one hand (especially when brevity is not a primary gifting 😉😬) has proven to be a bit more challenging than expected. She had her first follow up with the surgeon this week and he felt all was going as planned. Lee needs to stay in her immobilizer sling pretty much full time for two more weeks but can start doing some “passive PT” now to prevent the shoulder from getting more stiff. She also ventured out yesterday on her first driving adventure with the immobilizer. She reports all went well and I saw no marks on the car and had no police reports that challenged her assessment![...]

Home safely

The promised update is that Lee came through her shoulder surgery without any of the anesthesia complications that have marked some of her past procedures and she is safely back at home resting.  The surgeon was able to reattach one tendon that had been torn loose and he worked to “clean up” some areas of the joint that had some bone spurs and other impingements that were likely causing a significant amount of her pain.  There were two additional tears that he was unable to repair but the hope is that continuing physical therapy and strengthening exercises will bring added strength and stability.  The immobilizer/sling they gave her is quite the contraption but it seems to be effective at holding things in the right position.  [...]

Tough to Title...

Hi all, 

This is Steve posting in an attempt to summarize what has been a very active (a significant understatement but I struggle to describe succinctly, hence the “title”) 3+ past few weeks and to let you know of a few things on the horizon. The days leading up to and through the holidays were a mixture of precious time spent with family (remotely) & friends and some very tough and tragic events that have unfolded in our community.[...]
