Recovery Day 1
Kira is currently resting well, with 15 hours and 16 minutes remaining of sedated sleep on her tummy. After a hard night, she seems to have settled into the right balance of medications to keep her comfortable. Last night she went back and forth between sounding like a croaking frog, moaning and delirious tears, and while we were exhausted from beginning our day at 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, our hearts were not too tired to desire to comfort our sweet girl. We joked today that our prayers last night sounded like “Hi Lord, You’re there. I’m here. That’s all I got,” or “God, please listen to everybody else praying right now because I need you but I’m too tired to have words.”
We welcomed morning along with coffee. Some of Kira’s overnight delirium was the anesthesia wearing off, and by morning as it continued to wear off and pain meds were managed she rested much more soundly. She opened her eyes a few times to see us and express her annoyance at her situation before settling in again to sleep.
Family members have been here with us at the hospital ensuring we eat and drink and sit down. Thank you for all of the verses and songs you’ve sent us. We love listening to them. Thank you for praying for us and for our Big Kira Girl, as she calls herself whenever she’s found another thing to climb. Please continue to pray that we would be patient and understanding as she wakes up more and has more of her faculties to express her discomfort and displeasure, and pray for Kira that she would heal well and that soon we would see more of our smart smiley girl soon.
Psalm 9:1-2
1 I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart;
I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.
2 I will be glad and exult in you;
I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.

She could not be in better hands.
Wonderful update! Isa 58:11 "The Lord will guide you always; He will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail."
Though it takes precious time, Thank you so much for the detailed entries you put on this site!!! They are read with hunger for each word. They bring an abundance of Thanks to our God who is answering each need in His own perfect way, one at a time! One of my very favorite verses comes from Hebrews 4:16 and I love it from the Amplified Version. “Let us then fearlessly, confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace that we may find grace to help in good time for every need, appropriate help and well-timed help coming just when we need it.“ You are LOVED and DEEPLY CARED FOR! Praying...
Praise the Lord for His love and provision in your lives. Blessings to you all.
