Great "A-Team" meeting this morning
Glenn, Cindy, Laura, Jan and Michael met for nearly an hour this morning (9-10a) with Dr. Michael Stender who explained everything well and gave us all a great deal of confidence for what's ahead, difficult as that may be. His explanation of the disease and its process, molecular markers, science, how they drill down into the genetics was quite enlightening, giving us peace and confidence that we are in good hands for Cindy's difficult road ahead.
Going forward, we now proceed into treatment through lots of prep work ramping up today and tomorrow (PICC line, various support drugs, etc..). Cindy could start with induction therapy as early as Tuesday, 1/29. For now, second opinion option is on pseudo-hold. Jan will still explore it to keep door open as we fully enter into treatment with Beaumont.
A Dr. Stender note: Entering medical field a little later in life, he is in his 26th year of practice. He delayed his career to tend to some family matters that he believes helps him better understand patients and family because he was and is that "go to" person in his large family (like our sister Jan) for all their various medical challenges.

Now you have a Plan, as difficult as it is, it is direction and movement. Bless GOD! I can't even begin to imagine what your hearts, minds and emotions are going though, but I pray you rest will in His Faithfulness and Peace. Praying, also, that God will grant, you, Cindy, diminished pain, and ill effects from your treatment! Hugs, french
Cindy and I are so grateful to Laura and Michael (and their dog, Jackie) coming across Michigan for a couple days to be part of our eyes and ears for today's meeting. Likewise with my sister, Jan whose expertise and compassionate manner and ethic to help keeps us even. We have GREAT PEOPLE!
That is awesome! Even more awesome is the Mighty God we love and serve! He is not surprised by any of this and don't worry: GOD'S GOT IT!
Thank you for the update. We will be praying for Cindy, you, your family and the staff and help at the hospital. Debbie
