Here we go!

When induction concludes at 2 a.m. tonight (Technically 2/6/19), what's ahead varies from person to person but, more than likely, the medical team will have some kind of counterattack ready. So far, genetic abnormalities indicating higher risk such as CEBPA, FLT3 and NPM1 are all negative. Furthermore, that Cindy has tolerated treatment very well. So far, so good.

Let's go ahead and declare that the prayers of "Cindy's Village" are working!  Everyone, keep 'em coming!

Our girl is battling.  Despite continued fatigue, she lapped the floor 4 times today, twice with girlfriend, French Waller and twice with Glenn (boyfriend?) . What a trouper. ("A stud," declared Cindy's sister in law, Lori.)

We requested a consult with our docs tonight to hear about likely next steps. Much hinges on results from a second bone biopsy set for 2/11 or 2/12.  If a first remission is achieved (best case scenerio), Cindy could go home for a month to prepare for a next "consolidation" round of chemo intended to blast any remaining blasts* off the face of Cindy's earth (pun intended). Much hinges on what's going one in Cindy's body during the next week until that biopsy.

[*blast cell - immature blood cells found in the blood of a person with leukemia]

We dared to ask the doctor if Cindy could return to work while awaiting the consolidation round. Answer - "Maybe."  (Cindy hopes to return because she misses her Hillside Elementary colleagues and students. We received "maybe" as a step in the right direction.)

Dear Lord, we seek remission but trust in you, whatever happens.  Thy will be done.

Let us look to the future for Glenn and Cindy the way David looked above Golaith and focused on the awesome God that he, and we still serve.

How can we not want to appy a David and Goliath analogy?

Praise God for the mercy He’s showing! Kudos to stud Cindy who drained the last bag! (Pretty good for not much of a party girl!). Hope and prayers for continued “best case” scenarios! I like this report😊
