Cindy's Missives 2

Just thought I'd share some of the wonderful messages I've received about Cindy's life and passing. These "missives" are just a few of the many, many I've received, read, re-read and keep near for my end of day moments when I just want to steep myself in her.

-----------------------------------

I received the card pictured above from Katie and Bob, primarily my (Glenn's) acquaintances through Farmington Young Life and Bible study buddies with my sister, Julie, brother-in-law, Rich and mother, Mary.  As Katie writes, she didn't really know Cindy but 'knew of her.' Since the pictures scroll, I've copied below what Katie wrote.  It stands on its own and requires no further comment from me.

---------------------------------

"I didn't really know Cindy.  Perhaps, it was what I 'knew of her' that caused her death to grieve me.  God gave me an image Monday night (4/8/19) and, uncharacteristically, I wrote it down Tuesday morning.

"Cindy is removing her armor - The Full Armor of God.

Unbuckle the Belt of Truth,
you are a woman of integrity.
Lift off the Breastplate of Righteousness,
you are pure of heart.
Untie the Shoes of Peace,
you are the cool, calm pond in times of troubled waters.
Let fall the Shield of Faith,
you have the mind of Jesus.
Remove the Helmet of Salvation,
you are saved.
Lay down the Sword of the Spirit,
you enter heaven with a heart filled with the Word of God.

You have fought the battle and won.
O Death, where is thy sting?
Today, you see the Face of God."

Katie

Scripture context:

1. Armor of God: see Ephesians 6: 10-18, NIV
2. You fought the battle and won: see 2 Timothy 4: 7-8, NIV
3. O Death, where is Thy sting?: see 1 Corinthians 15:55-57, KJV

Expressed just as I would expect for Cindy as she is taking in every moment of joy being in the presence of Jesus! Miss her so very much. But knowing that she is with our Lord brings such comfort!!!
