GRACE

Haley my nurse scurried into my chemo room. Earlier in the day she started my IV bag of immunotherapy. Thinking a lot about grace, I announced, “Haley, do you know what the word grace means?” Caught off guard, she looked at me surprisingly and replied, “It means gift.” I pointed to the IV bag and said: “Have you ever thought about the fact that Merck the big drug company is paying $30,000 for every treatment and all I must do is receive it into my arm. I don’t deserve it. I didn’t earn it and I can never repay the company.” I explained further how that’s why Jesus came to this earth. We had a disease called sin  we could never rid on our own. We needed a Saviour who would pay our sin debt full and free. So a Redeemer came, took our place and removed our sins.  Now, if we receive His payment we are given forgiveness of sin and a place in Heaven. Excitedly, she responded, “I get it.”

Once again, God used what was happening in my day to make Himself known.

Grace means gift 🎁

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
Eph 2:8-9

🦋Words of Hope

Oh, to know the gift of grace,

not earned by any act or deed

but given to every soul for favor

to fill our deepest want and need.
