Thursday

Garrett's condition is still critical. We are currently dealing with a blood clot in is lungs and a clot in his brain. The treatment for each of these clots is somewhat reverse.  So, we are trying to treat one and not affect the other.  One of our main concerns, with the clot in his brain, is the possibility of a stroke.  This cannot be completely determined, more the scope of a stroke, cannot be determined until Garrett comes out of sedation. Though he is still on life support, he is being slowly weaned off. He is expected to be in the ICU for, at least, the next 3 days.

Garrett has had a somewhat positive day today - progress with being weaned off of life support. There is, however, concern of a stroke. Garrett has had a CT Scan and and MRI this afternoon and evening, we should hear the results tomorrow.

I am so sorry to hear that Garrett and his family are going through this trial. I had the privilege of working with Garrett years ago, at Jones International University. He is one of the nicest men I ever met. Yet beyond that, there was something about him that I couldn't place at the time and wouldn't recognize until I came to Christ years later--it was God operating in Garrett. He sharpened my iron without ever knowing it. My prayers are with him and his family. Heal me, LORD, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise. Jeremiah 17:14

Wow, Brent, I couldn't have articulated my thoughts any better, thank you. Garrett truly is radiant with and through the grace of God. I feel so grateful to him and to Cara, for so many different reasons, and to Christ for putting us all in that little cubicle world together, however briefly. I'm beyond relieved to read that Garrett'so condition seems to have improved. And, thank you, Kevin, for providing us with this way to communicate, and for the updated news. Please, please let me know if I can be of ANY assistance, I'm available 24/7. My cell is 720-299-0495.
