Sprinting

Today Bill returned to work for the first time. He's going to start light and see how it goes.

I read to Gracie during her seventh round of plasmapheresis. Last time I read to her was elementary school! Bill has been reading to her since last week, and I enjoyed my time reading to her.

Her breathing has been getting better. Today she tolerated 45 minutes of "sprinting," which is a lowered dependency on the ventilator, and a way of weaning her off of its continuous use. By comparison, yesterday she tolerated only 25 minutes. She listened to a Willie Nelson CD a friend brought her during her sprint. Grace hates any kind of running, but I reminded her that in her sixth grade track meet, she placed first in the 400 meter race, despite her dislike of it!

Congrats Gracie on winning your sprints. I know all about trying to win sprints. I find that the best slogan for me is, slow and steady wins the race. Improvements that you make all add up to you winning your race. When you picture the crowd of people rooting for you, I'm the turtle. Bob and I continue our prayers and send positive thoughts. 🐢🐢
