Marathon Training and Prom Princess
Hi Everyone,
I want to thank everyone who participated and donated to The Race With Grace. It means a lot to my family and me to see the community support us. Some day soon, I will be home to thank everyone in person!
My weans continue to progress. I no longer use pressure support. They plug my trach and give a straw to pull a support breath only when I need it. I can go up to two hours (!) without the vent. My doctors told me it would be like training for a marathon, and it is.
Last week was my first outing into the community. A group of us went to Wash Park in Denver and had a picnic, did some painting, and got to practice off-roading in the wheelchair.

Also, last week another teenage girl came in. She is a freestyle skier preparing for the national team who was injured and now at Craig for rehabilitation. The people, and their stories, at Craig are so inspiring and help to motivate me everyday.
Also, on Friday I got a Skype call from Santa Barbara High School. Principal Becchio, along with ASB, my sister and the Jazz Band, informed me that I was nominated for prom princess. Now I have to come up with a talent to show off for the competition!
