Another check-in
I just spoke with both Ev's nurse and with Mom. She has spiked a fever again, which they are keeping a close eye on. They also started to give her a medication to help delay the spread of these blisters. They are starting to see the spread slow down a bit. They were spreading all over apparently. On previous calls I thought it was just her thumb and back.
Her swelling has gone way down - the nurse says she looks like a regular person now - apparently it was quite extreme.
Her heart rate continues to be high, but again it is still heading towards a more normal status.
They will not take her off intubation until she is following commands more regularly, and commands which are more complex than squeezing hands and moving limbs a bit. They would also like to see her more alert and awake.
She has been sleeping basically since then. She has only opened her eyes a couple more times and for about 20 seconds - they want that to be more often and for longer periods.
But we feel relieved that she woke this morning!!!!!!!
Thank-you all!!
