Quick Progress
Evelyn progressed so much yesterday, that they are moving her to a regular room, out of ICU today. She is off intubation and all tubes are out, including the feeding tube. The only thing left is an IV.
She took ice chips and lots of water in the morning and then was able to eat lunch and a little bit of dinner. She was talking a lot more by the end of the day.
She was showing nurses a mini-photo album of her family, and telling them how tall Quinton is :) - doing her proud auntie bit!
The medical team had to do some "test questions" to check that her brain was working well... one of the questions was "Can a rock float on water?" Evelyn gave them a side eye and rolled her eyes... Mom said "Remember Ev we are in California!" implying maybe this was a tough question there... :) They all had a chuckle about that. She passed with flying colours.
It warms my heart to hear that Ev is in a place where she can make and laugh at jokes.
She is doing so well now, that they are in talks with both her insurance, air ambulance and KGH about when they can transfer her home. They are hoping by the middle of next week!!!!!!
So relieved to hear they are both coming home. We can deal with and fight anything together after they are home.
Please don't hesitate to write Ev a message under the "Posts" option above. She will be reading them within the next few days.
Thank you for your continued prayers and support.
