My thoughts of sadness and grief are overwhelming. Even though I didn't know you personally, I learned so much about you from your sister, Colleen. You were an inspiration to many people and I know you will be remembered as someone who stayed strong and lived the best life you could while dealing with hardships that you had to conquer. I wish I could have met you here on earth, but know I will meet you in heaven. Rest peacefully, Kaytie.

I posted already but wanted to add a little more. I was at chorus rehearsal last night and thinking about how grateful I am that you came to NYC and sang with our chorus these past six years. I could have only known you as Colleen's sister whom I got to see in the high school musicals when I was in middle school. I'm so lucky to have gotten these six years with you to know you and sing with you and become friends, getting to experience your big and generous heart and spirit, and I will be feeling lucky about that every day for the rest of my life. Love, Shoshana.

Dearest Kaytie- You have brought so much joy and light to the world. I will never forget the time we met to study at the San Francisco Public Library, when we discovered we had so much in common. You are loved. Always!

Kaytie ... today, on the way to work, I listened to your interview on the Broadway channel on Sirius. You are amazing. I too am an EQUITY member. I too have had serious cancer issues. They thought I had a sarcoma in my hip region which actually was a lyposacoma. Major surgery to remove it at Sloan Kettering. I still have prostate cancer. After 2 surgeries, Sloan reduced it so that I could keep my prostate (I had just gotten married). Skin cancer issues too. I have to stop winter vacationing in Chernobyl. Your thoughts today on the radio were so helpful, supportive, informative, inspiring. Now I read this news. My heart goes out to you. But no thoughts and prayers from me - let me try to do more. My mother passed from this but that was over 30 years ago. I was her loner but it was too late. So, Ms. O'Hara I will be requesting the test kit. I'm scared to face this kind of thing again - but you have to matter more. I hope you find a donor - if it's me, I hope I can do it. Hang in there. Will try to order that kit now.

Dear Kaytie, You are so loved and respected and appreciated that it is literally mind-boggling! I went to the Actors Fund brunch yesterday and, even though I have never met you, I feel like I know you. There were such lovely, sometimes funny, stories. And, you are so important to children. And the music, of course, was glorious. I sat for awhile with Rachel and Robin (I think that's her name -- tiny, short blond hair, really, really nice). The apartment was fabulous - the living room is bigger than my studio apartment. The food was lovely, of course, a quiche-like thing, some open-faced sandwiches, fruit and cakes. You would have had a good time. In the evening, I went to 54 Below for an evening of Sondheim music. The woman who played the first Joanna in "Sweeney Todd" performed and that is always special. It was a wonderful day.
I am thinking about you and am always available to you. Robin has my contact info.

Oh Kaytie... I love you. Sending all my love and wishes for ease--I know there's nothing easy about any of this but if some of it could be eased, even just a little, for you and your loved ones surrounding you that is my wish. You are so precious! (I'm looking at the sweet frame you gave me when we got to know each other--can it really be 20+ years ago?!--still a loving reminder of the precious girl I laughed and cried with.) You are so well loved--I hope you can always feel the love that engulfs you and that in your darkest moments it can offer comfort and be a beacon pointing you to the beautiful light that is YOU.
