Today, our team of doctors decided to adjust Louis' heart rate with temporary pacing wires. This is to improve the synchronicity of his ventricular contractions (allows his heart to squeeze all over at the same time). It's working well.

We continue to wait, while his heart recovers from the stress of the beginning of the week. Our next steps will be to start weening support from the bypass machine, then the sedation, then the ventilator.

I am writing these updates as much for you as I am for Louis and me.

My sweet baby Louis,
We have so much to learn. You have so much to do! Starting with saving your own life. My baby bird, please rest your heart and gather your strength.

We are slowly moving up the mountain and I promise it will get easier.

I am here.
I love you.

Just keep moving forward. It will take time. Know that there are people praying for your baby, you and Dan. Just letting you know that you (and your family are loved and in our thoughts and prayers).

My name is Sally and my friend Penny asked if I could take a look at your post - as I pray for you as parents I also pray for precious baby Louis and guidance for the doctors caring for Louis. My husband and I also had a son on ECMO 24 years ago as they were just experimenting with children on ECMO - it can be frightened and yet awe inspiring of how God designed the human body to work - our son has now graduated from college and is teach youngsters with special needs - we continue to pray for you and will watch your updates - I am always available if you need someone to talk to as you go through this experience - in God's love Sally
