December 2, 2016

We were allowed to take Louis for a walk through the hospital on Friday. Our first stop was to show him the giant Christmas tree, then we window shopped through the gift store, and finally got some well deserved ice cream. Louis slept the entire time.  But it was a nice break from his hospital room.

Somedays, everything is so hard. Not being able to move outside a 6ft radius because he has cords and monitors is driving me insane. It was a real treat to do something sort of ordinary but liberating.

Louis' team is still figuring out feeding and how best to serve his needs to gain weight and get the right amount of calories. Slow and steady.

We are all desperate to get home and start enjoying the changing season and taking naps on our big cozy couch, in front of our Christmas tree (which we don't have yet).

You can do it Louis! He's so precious. We don't need or want any Christmas gifts this year. We've learned so much and have been humbled and graced with patience. We just want to spent time at home, being a family, that will be gift enough.
