1st Birthday Celebrations!!
Lyla had a wonderful first birthday on Saturday! It was a fun filled day with LOTS of presents to open! She was so excited opening every present and has been very busy playing with all her new toys and showing them to her Grammie who came to visit. Luckily Lyla enjoyed the presents because she was not a fan of her birthday cupcake and screamed when the frosting got on her!
The best present of all was Lyla's white blood cells grew so much last week (currently about 75% of what they were pre transplant)!! The rashes are also nearly gone and she has been such a happy girl! We are hoping so much she continues to stay healthy and her cells keep growing!
We want to send a HUGE thank you for all the gifts, cards and nice messages!! We are so thankful to all our wonderful friends and family for helping us through these few months and for making Lyla's birthday so special! She is one lucky and very spoiled girl!!

Dear Beautiful Family, I am so encouraged that the while cell count is increasing. Lyla is very blessed to have such wonderful family support and such wonderful parents. Thank you Helen, Steve and Lyla for face timing so that I could join in the birthday celebrations, it really did mean so much. Lyla really is an inspirational little girl and I am proud to be able to be her great-grandmother. You have and are continuing to do a great job. She wouldn't have recovered at the speed she has without your devoted constant care, gentle stimulation and encouragement. It is a pleasure to watch you both parenting. Happy Birthday Lyla!!!!! The pictures were so cute! And I am so happy she was well enough to enjoy her birthday! What a gift for you and Steve too! I am SO happy that her health is improving and the procedure is working!!!! SO happy! That spoiled girl needs to be spoiled, spoiled, spoiled right now! Nothing but love and gifts for the princess Lyla Rose. BTW- only ONE of my children has liked their 1 year birthday cake. So the "dig and eat your birthday cake at 1 year old" must be a pipe dream and not reality. LOL! love you guys!
