Slowly ... slowly
I haven't posted for quite a while because nothing much has been happening.
I had read that it takes up to a year to fully recover from the Whipple procedure, but thought I could do better than that. Seems now that that was an overly-optimistic assumption. I am recovering strength and energy, but very very slowly.
The CDiff infection appears to be vanquished, although I'm still on a tapering-off amount of antibiotic for another month or so.
I see my medical oncologist next week to decide what happens next. Will post again after that.
Thank you all for your concern and good wishes -- I appreciate them so much!

Way to hang in there Marian! Bette Davis was right (Old age is not for sissies). Luckily, no one would EVER take you for a sissy. Sending strong thoughts for continued good progress. Don and Kate
Thanks for the update. We are all always thinking of you and rooting for you.
A year to recuperate -- whoo! We hope you are comfortable, at least, in being able to read -- the paper, your books -- and your favorite TV shows. Things are just moving along as usual with us. The only bridge is once a month with Lori & Mike. Lolly is still raking in more dollars than it costs at Bingo, Bob is still learning about the iphone.
Each day, finding what is improving...I hope you keep finding small things each day. We three are about to leave for a week long camping trip in northern MI. My camp memories have a lot of Marian in them! Playing word games of some sort for sure. Will be remembering all those summers with you and will send Nature Energy (!?) Is that a thing? ha! but I'll send it for sure! xoxoox, Joanne
It sounds like you are on a slow and steady road to recovery. This is certainly better than the series of "surprises" that you were having. Hang in there! Scott & June
Hi Marian, A year must seem like a long road. I hope you can put that out of your mind, focus on the steady progres, and get better a lot sooner than that!
Dear Marian. Slow and steady wins the race. Get your tortoise suit on!!! Love, Darlene and Jessea
Keep it up, Marian, we love you! Thanks so much for the update.
So good to see you and Dave yesterday! Progress, yay! Cheers!
