We are about to complete major home modifications to make our spaces handicap accessible and safe for our family. We will be renovating both of our bathrooms, one of which will have a curb-less shower to allow for a roll in chair in the future. Additionally all doorways will need to be widened and a deck with a ramp will be placed out front. In my dreams we will also make some safety updates to the kitchen, which would include replacing the cracked tiles and repairing/ replacing the cabinets. These funds may also be used for medical expenses that are not covered by insurance. Over time our needs will evolve as this is only the beginning of the road for us. Thank you so much for supporting us as we travel through these unknowns. It is our goal to create safe and accessible spaces to be together as a family. These projects will increase the quality of life for not only myself and Rich, but also our children. It is vital that when the time comes, Rich's wheel chair will easily glide into our children's rooms and there will be no barriers in our home.
