9/29 Update
Cal is doing a little better today. She does have unbearable pain where they took the tubes out of her lungs and still being on the feeding tube and now allowed to drink any water is extremely difficult for her. Even though it's not easy, Cal is persevering through!
We have been watching a few movies this afternoon and she even had me paint her toe nails. We all know I am not good at all of that 😂She just kept saying "it's okay".
The ENT doctors came in and looked at her vocal cords. Her vocal cords are not operating as they normally should and that's why it's very difficult for Cal to talk. They are hoping that speech therapy will help but they cannot guarantee anything. A funny moment when the ENT doctors were here today - they were telling me short term and possible long term solutions to her vocal cords. She stopped us all and said "it doesn't matter because I will be able to speak soon. I have come so far in one week." That is the determined Cal we know! Praise God!
We have decided to send her to Gaylord Inpatient Rehabilitation! As soon as the insurance approves her, she will be transported by ambulance there. We won't be allowed to see her for a full day so they can get her admitted and started on a regiment. Believe it or not she is in good spirits 🥰❤️
We are all loving on her and as I told her today you are so lucky to have two moms who cannot get enough of you. YES I got that Cal smile ❤️Thank you all for constantly sending us your love and support! It means the work to Sheralyn, Jim and I.

SO much joy overflowing from my heart right now! Callahan is moving mountains she never knew were possible! She’s going to be so incredibly proud of you all! With love, you all can can accomplish anything and it’s abundantly clear that Cal has her mind made up to do exactly the same thing!
Wow Kelly! What a great update. We are so happy that Callahan is keeping her spirits up and making continuous progress! What a great update!! Oh Callahan, you are amazing!! I am so proud of you! That’s my Callahan! She is rocking it! I am so proud of you, my sweet niece. I pray for you each and every day and know that soon, you will be able to drink and eat whatever your heart desires! That’s right Cal!!! When they say no or we’re not sure; you say watch me!!! With faith nothing is impossible!!! Anyone that knows you knows what a strong willed, determined woman you are! Having said that there is no need to rush things...there is a time to be still and know that God is fighting for you and a time to push yourself thru that next hurdle.
