Welcome Home Cal!
What a week it has been! It has warmed our hearts so much to have Cal back home to begin the next part of her healing journey. She has been settling in really well!
Wednesday, her first day home, was the best day ever! We had Parmesan chicken over arugula with a side of lemon spaghetti (her fav) as a family with all of her siblings and her mom. ❤️The next day Cal was already making the fam guacamole and eating her favorite meals! Her absolute favorite thing right now that she cannot get enough of is diet coke and the puppies. She has had tons of rest since being home, which has been much needed!
The biggest focus and prayer need right now is for her to learn patience during this time 🙏🏼It is so easy to want everything to go back to normal now that she is home and we all are reminding ourselves it's still a journey! Cal will be inundated with tons of doctors appointments over the next few weeks and that is going to be taxing. She is also learning how to maintain her pain and energy levels. She has been walking with her dad once a day to get fresh air which is helping gain her strength back 💪🏼She will begin outpatient PT/OT therapies soon.
It has been so great to have the whole family here to support Cal! We got out of the house for a car-ride on Saturday and couldn't stop laughing enjoying time together. She has been cracking us up with her sense of humor which is so our Cal 😂
Cal is so grateful for all of the flowers, sweets and gifts that y'all have sent. We are so overwhelmed and thankful for the love and support we continue to receive from all of our friends and family 💐💛

Such wonderful news!! Praying that each day Callahan will be stronger and her body will heal beautifully! One thing I have noticed reading this journal... you all have such a sweet spirit that radiates joy, even in the midst of this difficult time. Number 6: 24-36.... So wonderful to hear the news of Callahan's initial days of her transition home. I loved seeing her walking with her Dad and the dogs. Fresh air is so important! Cal - you are doing awesome! I am so proud of you. Be patient with yourself, take each day as it comes, and just watch how things unfold. I wish I could have been in that car to hear you and your sense of humor, Cal! I love that! I will continue in my daily prayers, holding you close to my heart. Seeing these photos and reading this brought tears to my eyes, because I see the fighter in you! I would like to send her something ❤️ My favorite picture is the one where she is walking with the dogs and her Dad. The path ahead is filled with color and sunshine. Such promise ahead of them.
