MD Anderson Pre-op Day
Shannon specked out for MRI and electronic guidance of the surgical instrument (see picture!). These are "fiducials", which are GPS tracking for mapping the tumor, pre op.
MD Anderson did all the appointments scheduled through noon in the first 29 minutes of the day, by 9:00am.
4pm-ish: We are on the Last appointment of the day: radiology. We walked over to the Radiology clinic, and they're sending us back to the main hospital (Mays clinic) for the 3 Tesla MRI, because they only have 1.5 Tesla MRI scanners for most MD Anderson purposes. Shannon, Ms. Fancypants, got the special 3 Tesla done on TTU campus, and MD Anderson is NOT going to be outdone!
It's just after 7:30pm and Shannon has just finished the 3 Tesla MRI. The final appointment for today is complete!
Shannon's surgery is scheduled for 8am tomorrow morning. However, she will be taken back to prep for the surgery at 6am.
Crystal (yes, we named the tumor) is about to be evicted. 馃槈 She's been an absolutely horrible tenant!!!

Shannon and Team Shannon: all our thoughts and prayers are with all of you....AND with Dr. Ray Sawaya---may his confidence be rewarded with the success you all deserve. Finally: Crystal-- you are FIRED. Pack your bags and go. Perhaps you had no idea, but you've been a lousy tenant and you are evicted.

The "fiducials" are adorable! Bless your heart, Shannon, your bloodwork bruises are just adding more "color" to the picture. I'm thinking the name Crystal is an "inside" joke...hahaha!!! Seriously, we know that come 12:00-1:00 tomorrow, Crystal will be gone, and you'll be on the road to recovery. Knowing you are in such amazing "hands", doctors, HP, and having your support group there with you...you are the Superwoman we all know you to be!!! Much Love, thoughts, and prayers from Levelland!
