Day 40- JOIN US

Last night was incredibly difficult for Redden as he was struggling with discomfort and nausea and had very few periods of rest. Whether it's a result of his body reacting to general anesthesia, or weaning from his other drugs, or lingering chemo effects is unclear. But when 6am finally arrived I was relieved that the night was actually over, knowing he does a little better during the day.

Brian got the boys off to school and made it up to the hospital in time for our meeting to learn the results of the MRI and the ultrasound. 40 days of absolute hell as we suffered as a family through 2 rounds of chemo, 2 intubations, millions of IVs, trillions of tears. And then the moment of truth... it's all been leading up to this.

'The tumor didn't respond to his treatment.'

...

...

...

Our hearts are still on the floor.

There's nothing to say that would adequately describe how it felt to hear those words. All of our hopes shattered in front of us. We feel empty. We feel the devastation of brokenness.

We had so hoped that this was the last time we struggle through chemo. But at this point our only choice is to push forward and try another 2 rounds of treatment. At that point we'll scan again, with the possibility of 2 more treatments following immediately after.

Oh, our poor sweet little warrior. He's been through so very much. And he's done so amazing. It's hard to handle the news that more is in his future. More pain and more suffering and more torture.

So tonight, at the request of my Dad, please read the following and join us at 9pm to offer a prayer up for our Red.

Please join us in prayer for Redden, nicknamed Hoss by me -- his proud granddad. Join our family today in a collective and unified prayer for this young trooper.

Though I will ask for a specific time and amount of time to be devoted to prayer, I do understand that from God’s perspective, praying an hour a day has no value in and of itself. Jesus normally kept His prayers short. Only twice in the New Testament did He pray all night. Since both are recorded in all four Gospels, you might think it was eight. Really it was just two different occasions… The shorter the prayer, the greater the faith!… ‘HELP!!!’ is a great prayer!

God's WORD reveals to us in 3 John 2, "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth."

Hoss is not old enough yet to voice his appeal to God for healing -- to declare and stand firm on His promise that "by His stripes I am healed" -- he needs us to do that for him. Join us today at 9 PM EST for fifteen (15) minutes to pray for health to be restored and healing to be received in his young body.

This may be a time you and your family normally gather for evening prayers so my request is to begin that with a few minutes of prayer specifically and earnestly for this child of God. Join our family in standing in unison -- on our knees -- boldly before the Throne of Grace as a unified body for Redden. Please join us as we cry out for 'HELP!!!'

In HIS Name - Buddy, Dad, & Pops

Beri, I just prayed for Redden's healing and I set an alarm on my phone to pray again at 9pm. I pray the Lord will provide a miraculous healing for Redden, and also provide peace and comfort for your family during this journey. Your dad's words were very inspiring.

Beri, I'm so sorry you received bad news today instead of good. I continue to think about you guys all of the time and I anxiously await every update. I just can't believe it didn't work! Things seemed to be moving along so well. Are the doctors making adjustments to his chemo in order to hopefully be more effective with the tumor? Do you have to stay in the hospital at this point or are you still able to go home between treatments again? Many hugs and prayers, my friend. And so much love. Kisses to sweet baby Red.

As reading through prayers @ 9 found this one that gave me hope and wanted to share: Father, Your Word says that no weapon formed against Redden shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Therefore we declare that no weapon formed against Redden prospers this day or any day to come in Jesus' name. Your Word says that trouble will not arise a second time (Nahum 1:9). Therefore we declare that Satan cannot make trouble for Redden again, in this manner, as he did in the past in Jesus' name. We declare all of these prayers accomplished and brought to pass by trusting you through faith and expectation in the name of Jesus.

Praying for all of you tonight......My son had stage 4 NB with the amplified n-myc gene at 6 months old. After 5 rounds of chemo, his body was still covered in cancer and we had to drop out of the clinical trial we were enrolled because in order to continue, he had to have gotten rid of most of it (usually 2 rounds of chemo takes care of the tumor). We went to Sloan Kettering in NYC because there was nothing left for us at MUSC being that he was so little. Sloan Kettering agreed that there wasn't much more to do other than prolong his life. Needless to day, we were absolutely devastated and heartbroken. They also decided to do their own set of scans up there to confirm everything. And in the time that had passed, Cooper had his 6th and final round of chemo. Apparently the last round of chemo knocked it out of him. The doctors were surprised because that rarely happens. So we ended up finishing the trial he was enrolled in and he remains NED today as a healthy 9 year old boy!! My reason for telling you- never give up (I know you won't); those little babies are some of the strongest fighters. Just because it didn't work yet doesn't mean it won't work ever. Your family and Redden will stay in my prayers. I believe in miracles because I have one living in my house.

Redden is a beautiful gift from God! Our God has provided for all healing through Jesus (I Peter 2:24) and in God's eyes it is already done! We see over and over in the Gospels where Jesus healed every single one that needed it. He never asked God if it was His will, because all sickness comes from the devil and should be destroyed, so He knew that healing is always God's will. He just simply set the captives FREE. He also never cried out to God to heal anyone, but instead He used Kingdom authority to command sickness to go and it went. He taught His disciples to do the same! Every single time he sent them out to preach the Gospel, He gave the the authority and power to heal the sick. (Matthew 10:8) So I pray now, as we were taught to pray: I speak to Redden's body and command the Spirit of Cancer to GO NOW in Jesus' Name! I bind every unclean spirit of the devil that has been assigned to this child and command it to GO NOW in Jesus' Name! Every assignment of the devil is broken NOW in the name of Jesus!!! I speak healing, health, and wholeness over Redden, and command every tumor to shrink NOW and every cell, tissue, blood vessel, organ, and bone to be completely restored NOW in Jesus' Name! Redden, BE HEALED - BE FREE - BE WHOLE - NOTHING MISSING, NOTHING BROKEN - IN PERFECT HEALTH - IN JESUS' NAME! Our prayers and love are with you all! Redden will live and not die, and declare the works of the Lord!!! Psalm 118:17
