Snowy, cold days and updates
Like most families in the Midwest, this week has been full of lots of indoor activities. Levi has been busy with his therapies and making little strides every day with his strength and movement. Owen has been doing online school and happy he gets to stay in his pajamas all day. Both boys have enjoyed having time to play together when the rest of their hard work is done.
Beth and Zack met with all of Levi’s doctors this week to understand the options and make a plan for next steps. They were all impressed with how much movement Levi has gained in his arms, his talking, and his overall Awesomeness. Right now, Levi will be having a surgery within the next 1-2 weeks in order to biopsy the area around his spinal cord that can give us more information. The hope would be that when this biopsy comes back, it reveals that this area has scar tissue instead of active cancer. This would allow Levi more time before he has to do any more treatment. If there is cancer on this biopsy, then we will regroup with his doctors to figure out what would be best for him to do next. And, in this way, we will know early and can intervene before it starts to grow again.
We will keep everyone updated when we know when his surgery will be. For now, we’re going to be thankful for central heat and warm blankets...

I am so thankful for this information. I have been wondering how things are going. I bet Owen has lots of girls wanting to be his Valentine!! He is so adorable. Those two are quite the pair. My seminarian friend has all the seminarians at Mundelein offering extra prayers. God is so good I trust He will keep all of you close to His heart. God bless.
