7-23 update part 2

Sent last post before it’s time so here is updated post

Crazy from the heat! Hot, too Hot

The great news is that the special treatment they did on Walker through June called “photospheres” has really helped Him by essentially arresting the rejection process, for now. So, what that means is we have had a very good month without any major issues which is a welcome respite for all of us. In fact, it’s been a very good month with many blessings along the way but leave it to the McKnights to add in little intrigue and drama to life.

The following is now forever known as “The Tesla Affair”. On June 2, Candy and Walker were in the kitchen late afternoon when they hear a very, very loud crunch of the automobile type coming from our drive way. As Laura and I were only a few miles from the house on our way home, Candy thought it may have been that Laura had wrecked hitting the gas possibly instead of the brake. She ran out the garage door to find her Black Ford Explorer perched strangely in the grass to the right of the garage door and facing towards the road but undamaged from her point of view. Odd, very, very odd. Then she sees a bronze brown Tesla sitting catty wompus at the end of our 2 car driveway and there is a young dark haired boy getting out of the driver side door who looks and acts like he’s been punched in the face.

Candy is understandably confused and livid at this boy who she now notices wobbling around his very wrecked front end of his Tesla and then she sees the other side of her car, it’s left rear wheel smashed inward. Once the light bulb went on that it wasn’t Laura and that no one was hurt, she calmed down to help the 17 year boy to a folding chair and could tell he was in shock. Meanwhile, Walker had come out, found a folding beach chair and sat down to observe the wreck drama in his own driveway, live drama in 3D, sweet.

As the neighbors began gathering, the story started to emerge that this 17 year kid was driving his older brothers Tesla Model Y and he had just left his friends house a block away in our normally quiet little neighborhood to go to his house to get a basketball. He drove just a block, then tried to turn left and lost control smashing into Candy’s car and knocking it in the air across the driveway where it landed having flipped 180 degrees around. And no skid marks in the driveway. Needless to say, he was hauling butt even though he sheepishly told the FHP man that was going 35 mph. Sure and he swerved to miss hitting Bigfoot and the Moon is made of green cheese. More like 60 mph.

The great thing is that no one was hurt, they had to tow both cars away as they were totaled, and our insurance took good care of us with a rental. We ended up finding Candy an awesome white Acura MDX that she just loves and now for the second part of the Tesla Affair: Several weeks after the accident, Walker was visiting his Aunt Nickie and Uncle Lindsey in New Smyrna and Nickie tells Walker that they have decided to buy Walker a new Tesla to drive back and forth to Mayo on his frequent trips. It has been his dream to own a Tesla for many years which he had often shared with Nickie who is a Tesla owner herself. He never dreamed that someone would buy him his dream car.

To say Walker has the coolest Aunt and Uncle in the world would be telling it like it is. Nickie and Lindsey love on Walker in many ways and they love to travel and adventure especially to see Grateful Dead tribute bands. And they just returned from San Fran were they attended the final Dead shows of the real remaining band members. God tapped on their hearts to do something truly awesome for Walker by buying him his dream car, a model 3 white Tesla. He love, love, loves his Tesla, it’s very cool and fast as shite. After riding with Walker and feeling the intense acceleration of the Tesla ride, I now understand how our 17 yr old neighbor could wreck at high speed after just driving a block. Such a great and grand gesture of unmitigated love, from Walker and all the McKnights, thank you Nickie and Lindsey, we love you very, very much.

A Tesla wrecks in our driveway one week and a few weeks later, we have an unexpected gift of a new Tesla sitting in our garage. And tomorrow we will be meeting with Dr. David Swanson and Rev. Tanner Fox at 1pm in the little white chapel on the campus of FPCO in downtown Orlando to pray over Walker and anoint him in Christ name asking for more gifts, specifically gifts of good health and longevity of life. You are welcome to attend with us in prayer at this time in person if you like or by sending healing prayers. I have come to trust in expecting the unexpected of our Lord Jesus who loves supernaturally those who love him.

In closing, I want to mention that Candy and I had our 22nd wedding anniversary on July 7th and I took the liberty of booking us a night at the Grand Bohemian where we spent our first honeymoon night together. We are still riding on the high from our epic anniversary stay where God once again sprinkled his fairy dust of love over us like he did on our mission trip to the Dominican Republic some 23 years ago where we traveled as friends and returned life partners. We are both still pinching ourselves that our romantic love for each other returned in such strong fashion after an almost 5 year hiatus as we worked as parental partners, successfully so but with little room for each other. It has been a vey, very hard road yet God kept us together in patience and through his grace and forgiveness we are standing strong in love knowing we have a difficult road yet ahead. Today, we both know in our hearts that we will survive these times together, together and be better for it.

Thank you for allowing me to share our story with you. The love that you share with us a through prayer makes an impact on our lives there is no doubt.

Please pray tomorrow at 1pm for Walkers continued good health and for strength for his family.

In Christ God bless you

The McKnights
