I'm back so soon! With more great news!

My sister-in-law, Donna, was here to make sure everything was going well with the wound vac.  It's great having a nurse in the family.  She told me that if the alarm goes off, she'll come up and change the canister, even if it's in the middle of the night.  Such a relief!

While she was here, we talked about how great it was that I felt the urge to do the walks that made the ganglion cyst apparent so that I would get my foot checked out. Even though I typically wouldn't have pursued having a "harmless" cyst removed until the summer when school is out, something made me push to get it out. We both agreed that it was a God-thing.

In the midst of our chat, I received a call from Kara, my orthopedic oncology surgeon's head nurse.  I thought she was just calling to check up on me at first because she is sweet like that.  But she saved some news for the end of our call.  "Well, the real reason I called is to give you some great news!  Your pathology report is already back and there is no sign of cancer.  The margins were negative."

Poor Donna had to see me cry tears of joy.   But that's been a thing lately.  I've had blessing after blessing, and blessings make me teary.

This means my next surgery will be on Monday, Lord willing!

Not long after Donna left, we had a little parade come into the house.  My niece Caroline just had her pinning ceremony, after working very hard to get her RN in two years.  So now we have a nurse on the Cooley side too!  I got to see Caroline in her white scrubs.  Mom and Dad, and my brother and his crew came in to visit.  What a lovely surprise!

After they left, Mom helped me go through all of the gifts I brought home from school right before we had to leave for Danville on Monday.  I got choked up again as I read through beautiful cards.  I'm thrilled with all of the tea, books, comfy clothes, gift cards, flowers, candles, and so much more.  So very blessed.
