7pm update Monday from Laura

Thank you for all the texts at 2:45 ensuring your prayers for Liza as she entered radiation!! My understanding is that it will continue on the same treatment schedule. If our prayers are answered, the radiation will detect those tumor cells as they divide and destroy them straight away.
Other highlights of the day: massage by Charlotte, toe wiggles to let me know she needed music, and a very intentional hand squeeze for Dr Tawk (neurosurgeon)💪.
Liza will likely get a feeding tube tomorrow or Wednesday when she's not in her 3pm treatment - kicking tumor butt.

Even so, we're told not to expect changes in the next week. So until further notice, your prayers are Liza's best gift to her and all of us battling beside her!!!
Keep 'em coming 🙏⚔️🔥❤️

Laura…. like so many others that you do not know personally, I have been following and eagerly awaiting the daily updates on Liza’s healing journey. Thank you for your willingness to share with us and allowing us all to be part of your warrior army! I wanted to also share with you a bit of my story and hope that it’s helpful to you. While it is not the same test of fortitude that you now face… , I sat by my mom month after month in an ICU as she battled to survive and recover from a double lung transplant surgery. She spent 6 long months in the hospital and 4 of those were in ICU. There were constant, terrifying setbacks along the way, and her husband and I both could not help but wonder at times if we were selfish for wanting her to keep fighting through hell to hopefully be able to keep on living. We had a huge medical team of multiple specialists. We knew we could only understand a little of what they were explaining to us each day and we were always left wondering if there was anything they weren’t willing to share. What we leaned along the way is that no two paths to recovery look the same and a fighting spirit and determined caregivers are the most important medicines a patient can have. It amazes me to this day each time I see my mom before my eyes, still her fiercest self, now back to taking care of the ones she loves. The future turned out to be so much brighter than I imagined it could possibly be witnessing her daily struggles as she fought her way back to health. I will be sending all my love each day as you and Liza walk down the path together to that brighter future ahead. Go Liza!!!
