Thursday morning thoughts from Laura
It was a long night of prayer. Amy Winehouse’s Valerie was the soundtrack to my fervent pleas for Liza’s strength and responsiveness. Liza brings great joy whenever she sings it alone or among friends whether with a microphone or a spoon or spatula in hand.
As you go through your day, pray hard and frequently…
“Well sometimes I go out by myself
And I look across the water
And I think of all the things, what you're doing
And in my head I paint a picture
Cos, since I've come on home,
Well my body's been a mess
And I've missed your ginger hair
And the way you like to dress
Won't you come on over
Stop making a fool out of me
Why don't you come on over Valerie?
Valerie? Valerie? Valerie?”

What a great song! God has to be tired of all of my pleas by now BUT I know he’s listening mom. Patience is the one virtue I lack. Those long quiet days at Mayo have to be deafening. I prayed last night and specifically again this am at 7:10 for your sweet Liza to be more responsive today. The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble ; he knows those who take refuge in him. -Nahum1:7. If we lean on him while we wait, God will give us the grace to wait and to listen carefully as we pray, go to trusted Christ-followers for encouragement , and keep opening his word and asking him to help us hear him - Psalm 62 Meanwhile , shrink shrink , shrink ! You are NOT alone mom! You and Liza have one of Gods largest armies ! Stay strong ! 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻 #🫶Lizastrong
At our First United Methodist Church in Griffin (Leighton’s church) we have a Thursday morning 8:00 prayer service. I have just come home from praying for Liza and you, Laura, the strongest mom in the world. Today I prayed specifically for some new responsiveness from precious Liza🥰
Liza, you haven’t left my mind or heart these past weeks. Belief can CHANGE biology. Keep your faith strong and know that there is infinite divine wisdom in each of our cells. Our body knows what to do! The HEAL documentary may bring comfort ❤️ Laura and Jack I am praying for your strength, hope and peace during this time, and Liza, I am cheering for you every single day! - Annabelle (AVL/ATL)
