Laura’s Sunday 7:30pm update

It was another day of solid rest for Liza. She got extra long sunshine time - and a visit from her high school field hockey coach/turned friend. Liza (and me too!) enjoyed listening to funny stories from the past.
So… in addition to prayers for Liza’s courage (and more responses!), please share your favorite memories of times with Liza here as a comment or post. I’ll be sure that she gets to hear them all!
💗🙏☀️🙏💗

Liza always comes up and gives me a big hug when I see her at UGA. I love her smile and our whole family is continuing to pray for her. ❤️

I have 2 different memories. One, Liza and Edie playing in their front yard on Melrose. Their faces were full of pure joy! Two, watching Liza and Jack run the bases at a Tourist game. Sending love and prayers to all. Hugs! Betsy (UGA ‘82)

One of my favorites is when I took all the girls to Carrowinds for Liza's birthday. As we were leaving to head home one of the big highway signs fell into the middle of the road and we hit it after 6 or 7 other cars and got 2 flat tires. There was rushing traffic on either side of us so the girls hunkered down in the back of the car with their bike helmets on. The highway patrol came and took us for a ride to the airport to get a rental. They even ushered us in like we were someone famous. Very exciting!!!

I heard that Shikira Waka-Waka song yesterday and all I could think of was them in hippie dresses performing Liza’s 5th grade choreography in my living room 💗

I remember last year we were celebrating Madi’s 21st birthday and her friends came to Charlotte, Liza was one of them. It was getting late but they all decided they were going to go out to continue celebrating. Liza saw I wasn’t comfortable with that decision and came up to me, gave me a hug and assured me she’s like “their mama” and she’ll make sure everyone gets home safe. ❤️

That is just like her to have noticed the subtleties and offered reassurance. Thank you for making others aware of her generous sensitivity underneath that wildly independent exterior.

I remember the first time I met Liza, when you brought her and Jack out to Winter Park and you all skied with me and my 3 kiddos. She had to be about 6 or 7?? I’m guessing it was March, I remember it was a beautiful spring ski day 💛

Bid day meeting Liza 🤍 felt like I had met a little mini me. She was so excited and full of energy and partied a little too hard (classic). I knew she’d be the best lil KD and she instantly fell into the greatest friend group of girls in her pc and my friend group got to take her under our wings. We love Liza from her bright big smile to her sarcastic jokes. I pray for Liza every day and replay her sweet laugh all day 🤍 I love you sister

Our first memory of Liza was at LEAF probably when the girls were like 9? Evy and Niko were hula hooping near the big stage right next to this cute blonde little girl. Liza! . Alex and I were watching all 3 of them and then looked over and there you were. Another memory was when you were vacationing on Folly. The kids and I went to visit y’all. Evy and Liza walked around Folly like they owned it! Liza spent the night w us in Mt Pleasant and she and Evy made movies on iMovie! Liza was Evy’s muse as the lead actress! It was so cute. Then another GREAT memory was just 1 &1/2 years ago at your beautiful wedding…and Liza was this amazingly beautiful force that night. She sang Valerie by Amy Winehouse with such joy and power. She was memorizing that night! So much love! ❤️

Hey Liza, we have yet to meet but your mom, Jack, and Eddie and I met way back at a MPS Disney conference when your big sister was around 2yrs old. I think your mom noticed my daughter Kenna walking around giggling and bossing everyone around and was intrigued because Eddie and Kenna looked so much alike. Your mom and I connected right away with our similar families and our paths. We stayed connected with support for one another through our family victories and heartaches. I always love peaking onto facebook and seeing all the little celebrations of continued life with the grace and wisdom Eddie has given you and your family. Liza , I see the enormous love and gratitude for life and the insight you have yet offer to others in this world. Keep fighting Liza, Keep fighting knowing we are sending prayers with strength and love to you everyday little warrior.  With much love, Renee Bailey

I remember the Melrose playdates, and how much fun they had together as little 2-year-olds, toddling around in the sunshine in various backyards. My girls were still shy as they didn't know anyone yet, but Liza included them right away. But what always really struck me about Liza was the true tenderness and love that she gave to Edie, all the time... which was so outstanding & such a testament to Liza's heart.

My best memories are of all the girls staying with us when the Dawgs played in Atlanta. All of them ‘pre-gaming’ with Mimosas, laughing and having the best time. Liza always made me feel so welcome when I stayed at their Athens house, which has been many times over the past two years. She always welcomed me with a big hug and she could make conversation like no other 20 something I’ve ever met. Mike and I truly love your beautiful girl❤️
