The Big Announcement

We are excited to announce that our family is growing through adoption!

The reality of this statement might settle in quicker for you than it has for us. After experiencing many “no’s” in building our family biologically it is surreal that if we keep signing papers and keep making decisions that this will really happen. It has always been our desire to grow our family. We can’t identify a moment we knew adoption was the path for us, but we know that God has been shaping us for this and it is no surprise or second choice to him. Our decision has been slow, careful, obedient steps, but momentum is building and we are ready to go as fast as this notoriously slow process will take us.

Our child is waiting somewhere in India. Through a prayer-filled and God-sought process of research, spreadsheets, and meetings, India came through the sieve as the best adoption program for us. The fact that we have traveled to India a few times already is a wonderful bonus! We are so happy to be able to adopt from a country we have already experienced and love.

There are a lot of things we don’t know yet like gender, exact age, and date of homecoming. The gestation period for adoption is unpredictable. What IS predictable in international adoption is that it is costly. The total cost of the adoption is about $34,000. We are hoping to raise $15,000 which will cover the home study fee, country fees, and agency placement fees. We plan on our personal savings and grants to cover the difference. 

Please pray for us—for strength to continue to trust in God in the times of action and times of waiting. And pray for this child who may already be born! :) We are thankful that as we consider our friends and families, we could only imagine the love and support that would be offered by all of you.
