Surgery Week
This is the week we would especially appreciate your prayers on our behalf, especially for Kira. Tomorrow we will meet with the doctors at Mayo Clinic to get the run-down for Kira’s surgery. Early Wednesday, January 8, we will check in to start a long day for Kira’s spinal release surgery.
We’ve been talking about the surgery with Kira, and when asked what the doctor is going to do she will rehearse what we’ve said, recounting the process: “back, all better, (a deep breath like a breathing mask), sleep, wake up, mama, daddy, Copper (then we correct her our puppy Copper will not join us at the hospital), toys, candy.” She can rehearse the facts with us that mama and daddy will be there when she wakes up and that we brought toys and candy for when she wakes up, but explaining the discomfort and pain she may be in is harder. Please pray that that trust she’s developed in us would not be shaken as we “let” people make her uncomfortable. Pray that her recovery would go well – she will be sedated and flat on her back for up to 48 hours following surgery.
Pray for the doctors as they perform the surgery, and for the nurses as they care for her in the days following the surgery.
Pray for us as well, that we would trust in God as we put our little girl in the hands of others, and that we would have the stamina and wisdom to care for her well in the days following surgery.
Psalm 18:1-3
I love you, O Lord, my strength.
The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer,
my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised

Praying
Praying for all of you and your specific requests. May Gods loving and healing hands be on Kira, her surgeon, and all her healthcare providers. Our experience with Mayo was wonderful when our 4 month old granddaughter had brain surgery, the doctors and nurses were great to work with.
Praying for all three of you!! May the peace of God give you strength . Your precious baby girl is in great hands at Mayo...and ultimately in God’s hands. 🙏🙏🙏
Such a big deal. You guys are such amazing parents! Praying for the doctors. Praying for little Kira. Praying for your Mommy & Daddy hearts. Praying for peace. Love you guys. Holding you ever before our God.
Bringing the physicians and all of you before His marvelous throne of grace. "You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever for the Lord God is an everlasting rock." Is. 26:3-4
I'm so glad that Kira is in the USA with parents who love her and are caring for this important procedure in her life and that there are medical personnel who know how to address this issue. I'm so blessed by your heart that is so full of Christ's love that it is pouring out all over this precious and adorable little one. Praying for repair and healing but also that those who you interact with will see Him shining through it all no matter what the outcome. He knows her, He knit her, He loves her. With Love and Blessings.
Good update and list of specific requests. I am praying for you all and know the Lord will uphold you with His righteous right hand.
Praying! May the Lord sustain you all.
Thinking of all that the Lord has done for Kira and for you, to bring you to this place and time. He is with you and will sustain you. We'll be praying for each of you, during the prep, the surgery, the sleepytime, the recovery! Trusting in Him that she will continue her trust in her Mama and Daddy. I always sang "Jesus Loves Me" into the ears of my little ones while they were going under or experiencing medical procedures. It calmed me along with them. Love you, Caps. "Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders which You have done, And Your thoughts toward us; There is none to compare with You. If I would declare and speak of them, They would be too numerous to count." Psalm 40:5
Praying for you all.
Thank you for sharing your requests with us all. We love you Capistrants and will be praying for your precious daughter as you go though surgery day and the following days of recovery. May the Lord grant you peace tomorrow and always. Bev and Dave Wentworth
We'll be praying for you!
Praying for the Lords peace and calm attention to cover you. And for an outstanding outcome.
Scott and I are praying for you!!
We have been thinking about all three of you today and praying that surgery is going well. Anxious to hear about results. Will be so good to have this behind you. Praying that little Kira's trust and confidence in both of you will not be shaken in these coming days. So hard as a parent when children don't totally understand what they are experiencing and how it will benefit them. So like us when we sometimes wonder and question God at tough moments.
Lord, thank you for the grace that you've shown to Kira and to us as the Living Hope family by bringing us together. Thank you for the beauty we see in the adoption process and the picture of you adopting us into your family. Thank you for Your hand of healing upon her and Your Spirit's ministry to her spirit. Thanks for the angels you have guarding her and ministering to her needs. Redeem this time for Your glory and for the benefit of the Capistrant and Living Hope family. We love them and we love You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Thankful you are on the other side of surgery and into recovery! Praying for God's healing touch and peace as you move through the next days!
Just re-reading this after surgery. You've experienced so much with kira in such a short time. Praying and waiting on God alongside you and so many others.
