Approved

We were all settled in for a long wait for approval, since the last range we heard for this part was 2-12 weeks, but after just 3 ½ weeks we received notice yesterday that we received India’s approval and we are now eligible to receive a match! We were so surprised and so SO grateful!

The next news we will hear is of a referral (match) to review, which we’re told is around a 6-12 month wait. We have not specified a gender preference, but are approved for a child age 3 or under. It is a strange stage of knowing it could be both any day, or months from now that we get to see that precious picture! Travel comes 7-11 months after we accept a referral.

There is a lot in adoptive parenting that is different from parenting a biological child, so in the coming months I intend to share what life will look like for us when the next kiddo comes home and share some whats and whys of our plans.

Our prayer requests are now for our kiddo, who is almost certainly born already. And for Kira as we do what we can to help her prepare to share a life and home with a sibling. This sibling will likely not be a baby who lays around, but one who could come home with physical capabilities that include taking, rearranging, and playing with her toys and special things (and when you’re 4, everything is special). :)
