Two steps forward
We have two more boxes to check on our checklist in the last two weeks! We filed our DS-260 and then received Article 5. That all enabled us to file for NOC (No Objection Certificate) from India. Once we receive NOC we can be assigned a court date. A court ruling will make us the legal parents and then the travel documents can be produced. This is actually the home stretch! NOC has a notoriously unpredictable timeline. We were told that it comes through in anywhere from two weeks to four months (and we’ve heard of longer). All we can do is wait patiently, praying for Evelyn everyday while she unknowingly waits for us.
The waiting at least gives more time for David to heal before any travel. Since his accident he has been healing excellently, but there are still plenty of reminders throughout each day that there’s a long way to go.
Thank you for praying for us and for excitedly following along as we prepare to welcome Evelyn home!
