Chemo underway

Deep breath and.... we are underway!  Right about 6 p.m. tonight, induction therapy was launched with the tried and true "7+3 Induction" that's been virtually unchanged for 20 plus years.  If genetic reports later indicate certain nuances that can be addressed, other ingredients will be added to the "soup."

Our medical team pulled out the stops to get Cindy stable and feeling well as this starts - normal temp, white count down, hemoglobin up, etc. Then came the trepidation for what's next.. Oh boy oh boy oh boy.

PICC line went in about 3:30 and we had dinner as the chemo began.

Seven days of induction followed by 7 days of transfusions, as needed, and side-effects management.  Next bone marrow biopsy is 2/11/2019 (Day 14). The goal is remission.

Think Cindy would prefer remission over a ruby for our 40th anniversary on February 16?

Tears. So glad it has begun and yet....."oh boy,oh boy,oh boy." Praying God grants a lessening of effects. French

This is Nancy from Grace Chapel. Yes, I am almost certain that if given a choice Cindy would prefer remission. And I am praying that this is what God will give to her.

Kinda partial to Ruby's (rubies). Hmm. Wonder why? All kidding aside. Good news on the treatment start-up Cindy. One day closer to remission. Check it off. Thank you Lord.

Regarding ruby or remission, perhaps a form of both? A little of the first and a lot of the second.

Praying for everything to go better than expected! Praying for complete healing of course. God knows best, of course! We love you both and are praying for an anniversary celebration to end all celebrations with the wonderful news of remission (and I agree with French - the ruby is on you, the healing is on God)! Love, John and Cindy
