Yuck

(I popped the picture in as an afterthought, to keep things in perspective. This is Cindy on a Lake Michigan beach in July, 2005. We stayed at the Rapson's Petosky (?) condo and visited the Rasche's at KBN and snapped some of our favorite all-time pictures during that trip. When we are experiencing a day like this, I sometimes pray, "Lord, bring this moment back to me when I'm in the midst of a dark day in the future so I can hold onto how much you've blessed our lives instead of dwelling on the Yuck that will want to claim me then." ) So this is me holding onto this great memory as I turn now to Cindy's "Yuck" day.

********************************************************************

We were forewarned this day would come and it did.  When chemo kicks in,  normal cells get zapped as well - extreme fatigue, mouth sores, suspected infections (all subsequently negative). Hair is hanging on. Only able to summon one trip around the floor with girlfriends, Kim S and Char S.

When I arrived, a bag of platelets was just finishing and Cindy was not in the mood for doing anything. A Boost protein drink and soup for dinner.  (Glenn brought a little cooler loaded with Boost drinks to have on hand.)

Cindy's looking forward to getting her hair trimmed tomorrow (2/9) by Glenn's brother, Neil who is visiting here from Grand Rapids for the weekend.

So sorry to hear things are so uncomfortable. You have been so strong and I’m praying the effects are mild and short lived. One lap is a huge accomplishment for the day! Hang in there, you are one tough cookie!

Beefing up the prayers for endurance in this season...praying for supernatural intervention to lesson any side effects, may they all reverse quickly and and may every infection go away before it takes root. Praying God’s supernatural healing. Praying for your peace as well, Glenn.

Thanks everyone. During my visit, Cindy and I sort of just stared forlornly at each other but then I summoned myself to shake that off and I could see Cindy's also refusing go "there" either. Since THROUGH this is the only way available, we forge on, our own hopes and prayers multiplied by all of yours. (PS - Encourage you to add a profile picture to you name)
