An Update from Both of Us
Eden and I are sitting here together to write a short journal entry before bed. It's been a long day. Eden's staples are out! Yay! We also learned a lot about Eden's diagnosis, and we have some picture of the road ahead.
We were hoping for a simple explanation of the pathology, and of course, it's complex. We'd like to share as much information as possible, but we're still processing and digesting. By some measures, the cells are not looking awesome. But other characteristics, like the chromosomal abnormalities suggest that Eden should have a good response to the treatment options presented by the team at UW. That is keeping us positive and we're hanging onto that.
It comes down to a combination of radiation therapy and chemotherapy that will be required over the weeks and months ahead. We'll share more as we go, but for now, suffice it to say, we and our family are nourished by the love, optimism, and support of all of you. The help that many of you have already provided - in mind, body, and spirit - is so welcome and appreciated. No doubt, we will need some more ahead and it will be tough at times, but we also look forward to having fun with our friends and enjoying life.
With love,
Dan & Eden
