April 11, 2014: Happy Sabbath!

The sun has gone down here in our corner of Michigan. As we welcome the Sabbath, we wanted to post a quick update.

Edward's rituximab infusion last night was flawless. His vitals stayed normal the whole time, and he slept through the entire thing. His tremor was worse today--he couldn't sit up without rocking wildly back and forth--but that's the trajectory it was on, and we don't expect to see improvement from the rituximab for several days. Also, this was only the first of four infusions he will get; one each Thursday for the next three weeks.

Since it nearly touched 70º today (today marking a full six months of at least some snow in our yard), both boys enjoyed the sunshine and fresh air afforded by quite a bit of outside time... most of which Henry spent delightedly barefoot!

Though this week has definitely had its ups and downs (by which we mean primarily downs), we continue to see the Lord working. Uncannily and repeatedly, someone has brought us food or some like kindness to lift our spirits just when we needed it. Edward is generally happy when he would have every right to be quite a pill.  And miraculously, the house is (relatively!) clean, Sabbath clothes are laid out, and both boys ate, bathed, had worship, and went to bed on time and with little fuss. God is good!

Dear Emilie, Kameron, Henry, and Edward. We wish you a Sabbath full of divinely appointed surprises and blessings. No emergencies, consideration of treatment options or visits to the hospital--just basking in God's love, concern, and bountiful care. Greetings from northern Germany where we are currently traveling. Gerald & Chantal Klingbeil

Dear Emilie and family, As a family we are following the drama (more like nightmare) that your a facing. A good day, a good week, a glimmer of hope--hope dashed. The ordeal that you are going through is so difficult for us to imagine as grandparents. Those grandkids are so precious to us and yet to parents so much more. Emile, you updates are appreciated, but even more so inspirational. Your love and absolute dependence on God shines through every update. Heaven must rejoice as they see you and Kameron's unwavering faith in Jesus. May God continue to sustain you with His assurance of love and grace. Sabbath blessings to all of you, Morgan and Nancy Hellgren

Dear Emilie, Kameron, Henry and Edward! Hope you all had a nice Sabbath. Glad to know that both the boys enjoyed the sunshine on Friday. Emilie, we really appreciate your updates; inspite of the ordeal that you are going through. God is really gracious and is blessing you and the family. We will continue to uplift all four of you in our prayers. I wish I were close by so that I could cook some food and bring! But I am happy to know there are some lovely people around you who are caring for your needs. With Blessings, Jaya
