Back to Salt Lake
Eric and Johnanna headed back to Salt Lake City today after 4 great days at home! They both got in some much-needed puppy snuggles, visits with friends, and time on the (flat) trails. Thank you to everyone who dropped off food, came for a visit, or sent encouraging words during this past week.
Eric and J are meeting with their medical team and doing some follow-up appointments in Salt Lake this week. They are also hoping to get out in the Utah mountains for some fresh air! Prayers and positive vibes for clarity as they, and their care team, formulate the next steps.

Hello everyone, and thanks for all of the amazing support. J and I are here in salt lake for the first oncology appointment, but moreover we’re here to work with the doctors to pave a more clear path forward. I have been reading the posts here on PostHope and it has been such a great reminder of how lucky we’ve been to be surrounded by such great people. Seeing the posts from my current students reminds me of how much I was truly enjoying this semester: from teaching great math like ANOVA, the heat equation, and linear programming, to the fact that I really seemed to have awesome, motivated, and hard working students in every class. It has also been super humbling to hear so many voices from my my past: great friendships, former students, grad school buddies, old coworkers, and adventure friends.. Hearing from all of you has really buoyed the spirits. I can’t thank all of you enough got having our backs during all of this.
You are love by all of us my dear friend!
