Update from Salt Lake City
After a couple of intense days filled with multiple office visits, testing, and procedures, Eric and I are heading home to Helena tomorrow for a short respite prior to beginning treatment. Unfortunately after all of these appointments, procedures, and bloodwork, we don't really know any new information. We are in the process of screening Eric for the clinical trial, which unfortunately means more waiting.
We are waiting for Eric's body to heal from the surgery; waiting to see if he qualifies for the study and if so, which treatment he is randomized into; waiting on an independent lab to confirm Eric's tumor type and sub-classifications; waiting on a date to start treatment. Lots of waiting.
Despite all of the medical appointments, we were able to get out and enjoy a little of SLC. We have been able to find some housing that will allow us to have Shelby and Aspen with us during his treatment. We found a nice little breakfast/brunch nook; Thanks Holly for the suggestion. We were able to get outside today and enjoy a hike up Mill Creek Canyon along with some slick Utah mud.
We sincerely appreciate all of the love, support, and strength that is gifted to us each day by amazing friends and family. We are grateful for it all.

Such beautiful pictures! Waiting is no fun, for sure... but at least you have some amazing scenery to take in while you do so :-) Thinking of you both and am hopeful that you will receive some more definitive news soon! In the meantime...keep on hiking...sightseeing...and eating delicious food ;-p
Yay J!
It's good to see the snow and some new green poking through. It's also good to hear that the pups will be able to be with you. Patience is tough. Thinking of you Mary Keeffe
Thanks for the update and the SPECTACULAR pictures! I know that you are more comfortable in your hiking attire, but I keep remembering how great you both looked at Julie’s wedding. Seems like it was yesterday...
Beautiful, so glad your puppers will be able to be with you!
Beautiful photography! And looking at the mountains, I am reminded of all the mountains Eric has climbed ( remembering going part of the way up Pike's Peak with him before the old folks pooped out) . This next challenge is another mountain - we'll be cheering you on!!
