4 Months!
Today we are celebrating the 4 month mark....4 months since our lives were turned upside down and life as we knew it completely changed. 4 months of fighting. 4 months of surviving.
It is in some respects hard to believe it has been 4 months because some things feel like they just happened yesterday. At other times, it feels like we have been on this journey for years. It's odd how our perception of time seems to stretch and flex.
We are both doing well. Eric has successfully finished the first round of the six planned chemo rounds. He is in the process of letting his body recover for the next couple of weeks prior to starting the next round. The first round went relatively well with minimal issues and no complications. We continue to "find" the adventures in life with hiking, canoeing, boating, rafting, biking, fishing, game nights, and more. We have been trying to enjoy the best parts of Montana summer, albeit a rather smoky one.
We are both starting the transition into returning to work, and are starting to feel like some there is some semblance of routine life. While nothing along this journey has been "routine"or "normal" it is nice to finally have some aspects of life that feel almost normal.
While this update feels unremarkable, it's easily the best one we could write.
Cheers to the next couple of weeks being as unremarkable as these have been!

Life, itself, and routine, itself, IS remarkable and we celebrate it with you. BTW w.r.t. Eric's hat a little bit of f*** obscenity goes a long way. May that way lead to health and good life. Take care. Brian Winkel
