Teacher of The Year!

At graduation, Eric was announced and celebrated as the Carroll College Teacher of the Year! What a well deserved and most definitely earned honor! Here are a few pictures from the ceremony. Well deserved. An outstanding teacher indeed! I’ve been wearing my Sullivan Strong band every day since I received it in July of last year to remind myself to appreciate every day as well as what it means to be a good man, through Sullivan’s example. Unfortunately all of the text has worn off at this point but I think it takes on a new meaning. Certainly, what matters most about a person (and the band at this point) isn’t on the outside, but rather what care and passion they hold within them. Congratulations Dr. Sullivan!

Well deserved and about time! Eric is one of the best teachers I know and also one of the best colleagues. I recall when Eric did a peer evaluation for me, he hung around for almost the entirety of my 3.5 hour lab and wrote one of the most useful peer evaluations I've gotten during my three cycles of evaluation at Carroll. Every conversation I've had with Eric about the classroom has tempted me to start taking notes from all the insight he was sharing. Eric pushes all of us to perform better as teachers and as scholars!

A teacher who fosters a love for learning unlike anything I've seen before. When I tell people about Dr. Sullivan, I tell people "he's a professor who makes people love math." I feel so fortunate and blessed to have had the opportunity at Carroll to spend so many hours in Dr. Sullivan's office hours and classrooms. He never let a point of confusion live on if he could help it, even if it was only expressed by a slightly furrowed brow. We love you Dr. Sullivan, thank you for sharing your gift with so many of us students ❤️
