Thank you to everyone for all your thoughts & prayers! We can feel all your energy, and your comments are uplifting.
Steph went into another surgery this morning to remove a blood clot & to help give the brain room to swell & heal. The neurosurgeon explained that, like many injuries, the worst of the swelling often comes 48-72 hours after the incident. So, the swelling is expected (we're nearing the 48 hr mark). But, the clot & additional pressure in her brain was a set back. Since the surgery this morning though, she's been doing (& looking) better. Right now things seem stable, but we are taking things hour by hour. She is incredibly strong & is fighting so hard. Doctors said her will, courageous personality, health, and youth are incredible assets.
The hospital & care team is amazing. And we are so grateful to all the local friends for rides, food, stories, and general support.
Many have asked how to help. Once we know more about Steph's recovery & rehab plan, we'll have a better idea of what kind of support we'll need. This is going to be a long journey with many opportunities to help in various ways. So, stay tuned! For now, keep your thoughts, uplifting stories, & pictures coming.

We send our love and strength to you from Nebraska. Tom, Quin, Cooper, Sadie and I all are thinking about your whole family during this difficult time. Our kids had so much fun with Stephanie babysitting and I just love watching all her adventures on facebook. We know she is strong enough to pull through this with flying colors!
