Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer

Christmas music continues to be a hit, as Gracie was seen to be mouthing the words to Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer as the song played. It was very cute.

One thing I had not mentioned earlier is that soon after Gracie was admitted to the hospital, she was found to have pneumonia. She has been on antibiotics, and there was more clearing of her lungs today. She's not over it yet, but it's good to see the improvement.

Thank you again for all your love!

Love, Debbie

By Meryl Wieder — Dec 27, 2014 11:00pm A story poem for Emilie to read to Gracie: What is real? asked the Rabbit one day When they were lying side by side. Does it mean having things that buzz inside you and a stick out handle? Real isn't how you're made said the Skin Horse It's a thing that happens to you When a child loves you for a long time not just to play with, but Really loves you, then you become real. Does it hurt? asked the Rabbit. Sometimes, said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful. When you are real you don't mind being hurt. Does it happen all at once, like being wound up? or bit by bit? It doesn't happen all at once. You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't often happen to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off and your eyes drop out and you get loose at the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all because once you are Real You can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand. (from "The Velveteen Rabbit)

Then Emily came along and we enjoyed watching you play outside in the front yard. From the updates, we hear you are improving with the pneumonia. I love listening to James Gallway play his flute. It helps me relax when I'm having a tough day. Sending you prayers, love and positive thoughts.

Gracie, Debbie, Bill and Emily, this site could suddenly be written in Swahili and we would all learn Swahili just to communicate our love to you. So Paul, good luck with the new site, we are with you. If you need any help facilitating any of this technical stuff I readily offer my .25 cent and will gladly call on Richard for the rest! PS - here is some Swahili I just learned: Nitasimama juu ya kichwa yangu na kufanya funny sana uso kama ungependa kufungua mdomo wako , tabasamu na hum Mimi Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus na mama yako!

One thing I KNOW to be true...GOD IS BIGGER, bigger than any sickness, bigger than doctor's knowledge, bigger than medicine, bigger than ANYTHING. Thank Him for what He is going to do for Gracie and have FAITH! Draw close to HIM during this time. If there is anything, anything at all that I can do PLEASE let me know.
