The Race With Grace was a HUGE success!
Sending a huge THANK YOU to everyone that ran, walked, skipped and donated to the RACE WITH GRACE. The event was so much fun with 46 teams on the track completing a marathon 104 laps each showing their love for Gracie! It was absolutely amazing. See photos on www.facebook.com/groups/helpgracie.
The Race was sponsored by Santa Barbara Firefighters Assoc Charity Fund, Tri-Counties CPTA, ParentClick, Arturo's Barbershop, Aqua Nail Bar, El Capitan Canyon, Fox & Goss Antiques, Starbucks-5 Points, Braunhaiem/Hyatt Family, Kind World Foundation, Fitness Body Boot Camp, SB High School, and San Marcos High School.
Karina, Rufino and their crew from Arturo's and Aqua were busy all day helping people look fine with fresh nails and haircuts! Sara Wilcox decorated arms, shoulders and more with henna tattoos. Starbucks sent volunteers and enough coffee and iced tea to keep us all moving in the right direction. And Firefighter Dan and his grill buddies served up burgers and hot dogs to the hungry racers. Many lucky people won raffle prizes artfully accessorized and displayed by Fox & Goss Antiques.
After a warm up by Marianna of Fitness Body Boot Camp, Hector Hurtado brought out amazing musicians that kept up the beat all day long. Thank you to Sol Seasons, Brandi Lentini, The Brambles, Swingline, The Traveling Hurtados and the other musicians that sat in to jam.
We blew past our goal on fundraising and are still going strong! It is all for 17 year old Gracie Fisher and AFM awareness. Learn about Acute Flaccid Myelitis, the mysterious, polio-like illness causing paralysis in kids like Gracie. #HealAFM
Thanks to incredible support, we have raised enough to buy an accessible van for Grace to enjoy a full life once she's back in Santa Barbara!
But we haven't stopped our fundraising efforts! Go to www.crowdrise.com/RaceWithGrace and click the DONATE button now and show the love to this amazing girl and her family. All funds are tax deductible and made thru the SB Firefighters Association Charity Fund (501c3 Tax ID 76-0797274).

Thank you Santa Barbara for showing the Fishers so much love and support. We live in a great town!

Congratulations!! You guys rock! So sorry we were out of town and missed it!! Sending love and support!
Santa Barbara is wonderful. The goal was more than accomplished. Dottie had to be the winning flagship of this race for Gracie. Hard to believe how kind and responsive this city is. Wish we had more like it.
It's wonderful to see human kindness on a grand scale. Thank you Santa Barbara!
It is incredible! What an amazing outpouring of love for you, Gracie, and your family! We love you and wish we could be there in Denver to see your sweet face! Lots of love, Carol and Harvey
