Coming Home!

It looks like I'm coming home soon! After six months of rehabilitation, I will be saying goodbye to my Craig Family and returning home to Santa Barbara on July 30th.

Before I come home I will be receiving a diaphragm pacer on July 22nd. This will decrease my dependence on the vent and hopefully lead to improved breathing capacity so I can be off the vent during the day.

I will be sad to leave my friends, Doctors, Nurses, and Therapists who have been so helpful and supportive through my stay at Craig. I hope many of them will come visit me in Santa Barbara and I plan on keeping in touch with them. I am also looking forward to coming home and catching up with friends and family. I still have a birthday party, Christmas and High School Graduation to celebrate. I hope to see you all in the coming weeks as my journey continues on the home front.

Gracie, you have worked so darn hard and have made amazing progress at Craig. I feel so fortunate to have met some of your incredible therapists and care givers at Craig. What a great rehab facility! Now you get to move forward to the next step and I am confident you will meet more amazing therapists here in SB, plus you get to reunite with all your friends and family. I am looking forward to seeing you soon!!!! XOXOX

Great news! My mom was in a rehab hospital for almost a year after a car accident and made many life long friends there, so I'm sure it's with some mixed emotion that you'll be coming home.
