Today was the day! I had my last dose of chemo at 5am this morning. Made it through 4 rounds of consolidation chemo as needed and it was no small undertaking. Some folks cannot make it through 4 rounds because it is too hard on them, I am glad I was able. All the nurses wanted to say goodbye in case I never cross their doorstep again. There was plenty of crying. I posted two new pictures from this morning's event.
It is now the next scary transition. Each transition is scary because of the unknown. Once you live it for a while it becomes the new normal, you make your adjustments and carry on. I now move to monitoring to make sure I am in remission and stay in remission. I am sure that each time I get a blood test I will be holding my breath for good news. There is no way around it so I will continue to stay positive and know that each test will be what I want to hear.
I want to thank all of you that have followed my posts, made me food, sent me gifts and sent me words of encouragement. It really meant more than I can say. It means the world to know you are not alone in the fight and that you are surrounded by caring people. I am very much looking forward to getting my immune system back to normal so I can start visiting all of you. It is not cool being cut off from the world. I will continue to post what is going on as I move thru the next phase.
