I only had more hurdle to make it over before I could start my full recovery. That would be making thru the "Nadir" phase. Nadir is French word which means "The lowest point". The doctors refer to the 10 or so days that you have no immune system as Nadir.
I made it to day #8 before the fever got me. I had to check myself back into the hospital to deal with the infection that was causing my fever. I almost made it, just two or three more days and I could have avoided the hospital stay. The odds of making it thru without a fever are very low, but I thought I had it. Between the antibiotics and my immune system firing back up, I am hoping for a short stay. This is day two, I may get to go home tomorrow or the next day.
In other news, Kelsey graduated for OSU and started her paid internship with a large local company called Blount. Blows my mind to think she just took her first step in her professional career, I still remember my first day, but it was a long time ago. Today was Grants first day at PSU where he is taking a 6 week Physics class. He wants to get head now so he can take other classes this fall.
Karen is doing well and is ready to sign us up for a yoga class once I am up to it....that should be interesting. Thank you everyone for your words of encouragement and good vibes.

Namaste :) It will be good for you both. The hospital stay will be short - you are a strong man!!!
You will love yoga. Steve does yoga.....sometimes. It has been helpful. This stay sounds like a brief encounter. Stay strong.
Let's hope for a short stay in the hospital! Yoga is not only good for the body, muscles and all but your head - I just LOVE my detox/hot yoga - it's so great.
Boo on fevers and hospitals and cancer! Yay on Kelsey and Grant and Yoga! I think you will actually love it- then can you talk my husband into trying it? PS Guys wear super short shorts in yoga- it's a thing. XOXO -Diana
Hope to see you back home soon and gaining the hard earned and much deserved immune system and strength you’ve been after this year! Fred and I want to join yoga with you both, plus I can’t wait to get you and Fred a pair of super short yoga shorts since it’s apparently “a thing!”
Kevin your just an inspiration on so many levels thank you for sharing the highs and lows with such honesty and grit. Hugs to you all ♥️
Hang in there. Light is at the end of the tunnel.
Sorry to hear this news about the hospital but just try and stay positive. You are so close now and you have so many things to look forward to with Kelsey's graduation and Grant doing so well. Also sharing yoga classes with Karen will be awesome. I have trouble in yoga classes, I can't stop talking long enough to do it. We missed your smiling face in Cabo.Take care and we are thinking of you and sending our love.
Hey Kevin, Hopefully your back at home resting comfortably. It's your last hurdle, keep looking ahead and keep up the positive attitude. Great news on the family home front, if that doesn't keep your sprits up, what does!
