Where am I?

I'm exhausted. All the time. I have been for days, but at least it's a good exhaustion everyday after physical therapy. After my first few steps, I was convinced I was going to topple forwards. My PT had to explain to me that my body is no longer able to accurately tell me where I am. When I thought I was an inch away from a face plant, my butt was actually stuck far behind me pulling my legs closer to a land on my behind if I lost my balance (which wasn't close to happening with two expert PTs holding me up).

Today my exhausting activity was standing straight a few times. I practiced with two people holding me while I looked in a mirror. I was incredulous at how bent out of shape I felt when I stood tall with excellent posture. It's a surreal feeling to be so unaware of where I really am in space. I have to train my brain to remember what upright should really feel like.

Thanks Laura for sharing your journey with us. You are a hero...and it's OK to be a tired hero - even Jesus was at times. We continue to pray for hope and strength for you; and encouragement in your progress. Hope you're able to sleep well. hugs from the Taylor family

Oh, Laura! Such difficult stuff! God WILL make "the crooked straight...and the rough places plain." I am claiming this for you in Jesus name! Amen!! I know it's out of context but it came to me immediately, so I'm CLAIMING it!!! Yesterday I found myself in my car listening to our Christian radio station and I was compelled to shout out with their word "abundantly!" And then with tears running dowm my cheeks , I prayed for your healing because He provides ABUNDANTLY for those who love Him! Much love and many blessings "beamed up" to you!!!

FYI: as I read this, just know each morning when I ask for guidance, strength and wisdom for the day, you name follows. Relearning these basic skills physically is much like learning to live the spiritual life. Gradually things become more focused with growth. Bless you today.

I love the verse Dayla gave you - how precious!! I think of Prov. 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart; do NOT lean on your OWN understanding [lean on his understanding, your PTs' understanding, the doctors & nurses' understanding]. In ALL your ways acknowledge him, and he WILL make your paths STRAIGHT." (emphasis mine) Love you & continue to pray!!
